

Visit Lamu
Visit the beautiful Kenyan coastal county of Lamu. Lamu is 341KM by road from Mombasa and 1-2 hours by plane from Nairobi.
Lamu Old Town is built in Coral Stone and Mangrove timber and is the oldest Swahili settlement in East Africa.
You can fly direct to Lamu from Nairobi, Mombasa, or Malindi. You can also drive there a use a mix of Train, Bus and Driving to get there.

There is accomodation to be found all over Lamu. Some People stay on Lamu Island itself. You'll find a number of visitors in Shela town. Especially at the popular Peponi Hotel. Directly across from Shela are the residences on the quieter Manda Island, the stand out one being the Majlis Hotel
Lamu county consists of 65 islands. Between Lamu and Manda Island there are fewer cars than you can count on your hands. So to get around, your options are travelling on foot, donkey, motorbike or boats.
